THE HISTORIC CHURCHES PRESERVATION TRUST |
||||||||
|
All of us expect the Church to be there when we want it, but the cost of preserving its very fabric is often well beyond the means of the local congregation. Small communities cannot cope with large restoration projects from rotting floors, re- roofing, crumbling masonry and other structural defects both internal and external brought about by natural causes and old age. Our historic Churches will quickly fall into decay if not maintained and this is where The Trust endeavours to help. Churches are part of our heritage and with your help can be preserved. Throughout Cheshire there are over 700 Churches and Chapels and many need help now so that they can be handed on to future generations. The Trust’s role is to raise and administer the much needed funds to enable restoration work to be undertaken - irrespective of denomination. In the past two years alone The Trust has assisted 21 historic Churches and Chapels by making grants in excess of £42,000. This work can only be maintained with your financial support. Thank you LORD WADE OF CHORLTON Chairman
